It’s Masculine Monday – Botanical Builders: Paper Weaving Technique Card and Video

Hi Stampers!   Welcome to today’s card and video.

For this week’s “It’s Masculine Monday” I decided to use the Paper Weaving technique combined with the fantastic Botanical Builder Framelits dies from Stampin’ Up!

I really like the contrast of the weaving and the die cut.  Such a different look for me!  LOVE IT!

I am totally loving this new die set.  So many possibilities . . .

Once you have finished the paper weaving, put the woven card stock on top of a piece of Basic Black card stock add the die. . .

and run through the Big Shot.   My die sandwich:  multi-purpose platform, precision base plate, black card stock, woven card stock, die, cutting plate.

I really love how this card turned out!

  • Karin Muller’s use of Whisper White with tiny pops of Pink Pirouette is so striking.  This is definitely a WOW card!
  • Claire Daly’s  card is so beautiful and feminine.  Check out the Bow Paper Clip Embellishment, really a great finishing touch to the card.

It’s Masculine Monday — Valentine Sale-A-Bration Card and Video

Hi Stampers!  Welcome to today’s Masculine Valentine card and video using the new Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration  Sky is the Limit stamp set  🙂

Check out this fun masculine card I made using the new 2016 Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration  Sky is the Limit stamp set.  Don’t you love it!  Just the right touch of love and whimsy.

How cute is that airplane propeller!!  I colored a piece of vellum card stock with my clear Zig Wink of Stella Brush Marker, punched it out with my 3/4″ circle punch and adhered it to my card with a small silver brad.  You know me and bling . . . LOVE it!

Such a small touch with such a BIG impact.  You have got to try it.

Wanting to make the inside of your cards a little more interesting?  Just stamp a focal image in the lower corner, trim around the right side and voila a unique and different touch.  Takes so little time and really makes an impact.

It’s Masculine Monday — Brayered World Traveler Embossing Folder Card and Video

Hi Stampers!  Welcome to today’s “brayered” embossing folder card and video  🙂

I am so glad to be back with a new “It’s Masculine Monday” card and video.

Who knew it could be so very simple to add depth to an image you embossed with your Big Shot.  I am such a fan of my Big Shot, in fact, I can hardly imagine making a card without using it in some way.  And boy, do I love my embossing folders!  Such a easy way to add texture and interest to your cards.

The only tools you need are a brayer, ink pad and embossing folder.  Today, I am using the new Wold Traveler Embossing folder from Stampin’ Up!

Just ink up the brayer and roll it over the inside surface of your embossing folder (the back of the side with the name Sizzix and Stampin’ Up!).  Insert your card stock, run through your Big Shot and voila you’ve applied color to your embossed image.  So easy, and so good looking!!

Just think of all the images you can add color to.  Really makes you look at your embossing folders differently!

Want to add a border around a die cut image?  But, you don’t have multiple sizes? Guess what, with just a little cutting and gluing you can add a great looking border that really makes your image pop!

In this case, I am going to border the locomotive image with black card stock.  Just cut two pieces of the card stock with your die.  Now cut both of them in half, one crosswise and one lengthwise.  Apply a little adhesive to the cut pieces and apply to the back of your die cut image.

So very easy and it really can make an impact to the focal point of your card.

I hope you have enjoyed learning these two simple tricks to add interest and pop to your cards.  For more detailed information be sure and check out my video. . .
