Celebrate You! featuring Birthday Blast from Stampin’ Up!

Hello!

Happy New Year’s Eve!  Are you ready for 2017?  Well, I’m willing to jump in with both feet. Quite a different approach for me, usually I am dragged in kicking and screaming but, I am excited for a new year and new things.

For today’s card and video, I used the Birthday Blast stamp set and Star Blast Framelits out of the new Occasions Catalog from Stampin’ Up!

Thought it was the perfect set for both a birthday and a New Year’s celebration.

Love the copper foil and copper embossing both look so great with the Basic Black cardstock and Whisper White oval.

With the help of my Stampin’ Up! Grid Paper and Big Shot; cutting the Star Blast Framelits was very easy.

I hope you will give this card a try for your next celebration!!

Watercolor Christmas card featuring the Reason for the Season from Stampin’ Up!

Welcome, stampers —

For this Christmas card, I thought I would play with a new (to me) quick and easy watercolor technique.  I used the Reason for the Season stamp set and Lots of Labels Framelits dies from Stampin’ Up!

Colors used on this card

I think the sentiment in the Reason for the Season stamp set is so perfect, as it completely sums the real meaning of Christmas.

Got to love the Holly Embossing Folder; it provides just the right added touch of texture.

How beautiful is that shimmer on the watercolored poinsettia?  Looks great here, but you should see it in person, awesome!!  Amazing what a little spritz of the Champagne Mist All-Purpose Paint from Tsukineko can do for a stamped image.

Santa’s Sleigh Christmas Card featuring the Alcohol/Ink Refill Spritzing Technique

Welcome, Stampers —

Check out this background created with the spritzing technique using a Stampin’ Spritzer, Rubbing Alcohol, and the Dapper Denim Ink Refill from Stampin’ Up!

Did you notice the glimmer on the “snow drift” created with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies?  LOVE IT!  I was able to do that with a product called All-Purpose Ink by Tsukineko.  You can purchase the ink at Amazon.  I fill a spray bottle 3/4 full of rubbing alcohol and 1/2 of the small bottle of All-Purpose Ink.  Shake well and mist your card.  All I can say is AWESOME.

To avoid getting the spray on my desk I made a spray booth. I just cut foam core (from Joann’s) and taped it together. Then lined the booth with paper.  So very simple and it keeps your stamping surface clean.
