It’s Masculine Monday — Pop-up Birthday Card and Video

Hi Stampers  🙂

I was out browsing on the web for something a little unusual and came across Julie Davison’s blog “Julie’s Stamping Spot“.  She had photos of three “half-circle pop up cards” she created using the Kinda Eclectic, Flower Patch and Watercolor Wings stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!

I also found another completely cute “half-circle pop up card” on Connie Babbert’s blog “inkspired treasures” that used the Awesomely Artistic stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

So, I decided to use Julie’s design and create my “It’s Masculine Monday” card with the By the Tide stamp set also from Stampin’ Up!

Don’t you just love the port hole? I made it with an embossed window sheet, circle dies, fun foam and pearls that I colored with a bronze Sharpie marker.

Check out the inside. . .

Oh my goodness, LOVE how I was able to repeat the port hole on the inside.  Thank you Julie for sharing this fabulous card idea, that can be easily altered to fit any stamp set.

Enjoy the video I’ve made for you. . .

Now that you have seen how to make this card, I hope you’ll go and create your own!

It’s Christmas in July! Are you ready?

Hi Stampers  🙂

Oh My Goodness!!!  Can you believe it?  We are almost to the end of July and there are only 22,  count ’em 22 Fridays until Christmas.  Are you ready?  Me either.

Definitely ready for cooler weather.  This has been the hottest June and July in recent history. . .no lie.  Many, many days over 100 and nights over 70. So in an effort to cool things down, here is my contribution to Christmas in July.

So let’s make our Christmas card using the new Santa’s Gifts stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Can you tell I am crazy about the Zig Wink of Stella Clear Brush Glitter
Marker?  LOVE it on the bird’s scarf, candy cane, and Rudolf’s nose and
green scarf.  So shiny and sparkly.

By now you know just how much I LOVE to
color!  So, I decided to color this card with my Copic Markers.  Did you notice the white spots on Rudolf’s scarf?  I made them with the Copic Colorless Blender.

Sit back and enjoy the video I’ve made for you. . .

Hopefully, you are now inspired to make your own cards using this fun new photopolymer stamp set.

Here are the supplies used on my card.  To order from my Online Store, just click on the images below

Copic Markers Used:  E42, 43, 44, 47; R29, 39; G09; B21, 24;  N2 and 0

As usual, I went poking around Pinterest for ideas for the new Santa’s Gifts stamp set and found these cute examples from Stampin’ Up!

It’s Masculine Monday Dragonfly Card and Sponging Video

Hi Stampers  🙂

Can you believe it?  Finally, an “It’s Masculine Monday” card and video that is actually posting on Monday!  Wow!  Are you in shock or what?

I had such a great time designing and sponging this card!  I think that sponging two or three different colors on one card can be so striking!  Doesn’t this card just scream masculinity?  Reminds me of a gray flannel suit and the gray and gold tie that my father use to wear with it.  Such memories. . .he looked so awesome in that suit!!

The new Awesomely Artistic stamp set from Stampin’ Up! is just as the name says “AWESOME”. It also coordinates beautifully with the Butterfly Basics stamp set.  I’m just crazy about both of them.

So happy to make a video for you showing my sponging technique.  It really is so very easy. Honestly!  You just need a little patience.  The most important information I can give you is to apply just a little color at a time.   It is SO easy to go overboard and start with a lot of ink on your sponge. But, I guarantee you, you will not be happy with the results!  Remember, you can always add more color, but you CANNOT take it away.

Follow those few tips and I KNOW you will be successful.

Enjoy the video I’ve made for you . . .

Celebrate You Card and Video made with Birthday Blossoms from Stampin’ Up!

Hi Stampers 🙂

Today I’ve made this completely cute card with the Birthday Blossoms stamp set from Stampin’ Up!
This was absolutely so much fun to make and I LOVE how the old Pansy Punch matches the flower in this new stamp set.

I think the combination of heat embossing the sentiment, punching out the flowers, applying glitter to the flower centers, dry embossing the stripes with my Big Shot, and adding the stitching to the card edges really ties everything together into one cohesive card. LOVE it!

I really wanted to do something out of the ordinary for the inside of my card. I think stamping in the corner then trimming around the edge of the flower is unusual and great looking.  I probably could have added the same stitching lines that I had on the card front, but actually never thought about it until just now.  Bummer. . .another missed opportunity!

Here is a video I made for you. . .

It’s Masculine Monday Card and Video — Oh My Gosh. . .here we are again on Tuesday

Hi Stampers!

Well, here we are again. It’s Tuesday and I am just now posting my “It’s Masculine Monday” card and video. Thanks for understanding. Somehow, I am running out of time every weekend and it isn’t until Tuesday that I am able to get her done!  Thanks for checking in, hope you enjoy today’s card and video!!

I haven’t used the Chevron Border punch in I don’t know how long. But, adding the strip of Cucumber Crush card stock under the chevron punched strip of black card stock really helped to highlight the green on the Mallard’s heads.

I was able to add some sheen to the heads with my Zig Wink of Stella brush glitter marker. By now, you know me and my LOVE of bling!!

Here is a video I made for you . . .

Just like last week, I’ve found some great examples of The Wilderness Awaits on Pinterest. There truly are some great card makers out there.

  • Love, love, love the beautiful coloring Carolina Evans achieved on the fox! Be sure and check out her Studio Evans blog
  • Really like how the elk is highlighted by the background on Sara’s card. You can see more of her work at her Simply Sara Stampin’ blog
  • You will find very detailed instructions to create the background on Tracy Elsom’s  Then Grandma said. . . blog.  Oh my goodness Tracy, your card is FABULOUS!
