Stampin’ Up! – Countless Sayings 1

Hi Stampers!
Welcome to today’s “It’s Masculine Monday” card  🙂

Today I am showing a fun, easy, different Valentine Card for the special man in your life. I really wanted colors that reflect a masculine vibe instead of the usual pink and red. To achieve the ombre effect I used watercolor paper, an aqua painter, and a Marina Mist stamp pad.

I squeezed the closed stamp pad to get the ink onto the lid, then I picked up the ink with the Aqua Painter. I applied the undiluted ink to the ends of the letters then added water to the ink in the lid to dilute it and applied it next, I repeated the process a little at a time, until I had a soft blending of the Marina Mist color.  Trust me, this is really very simple!!  Just do a little at a time. If your color is too dark, add more water to the paper. If the color is too pale, add a little more of the undiluted ink.

I do hope you will give this watercolor technique a try!!  I KNOW you can do it!!

And voila, here is my finished card . . .
